The Burnam Monument Foundation, who was responsible for overseeing the nation’s only National Monument for Military Working Dog Teams hired Ahern Construction as their General Contractor. The National Monument honors all Military Working Dogs and Dog Handlers since World War II.

The Burnam Monument Foundation awarded the construction contract to Ahern Construction to lead the engineering and construction efforts in building a foundation that supported a 3,000 square foot plaza of solid granite and large bronze statues. Ahern Construction corporation also installed the electrical in-ground lighting system; the five military service flags; along with the plumbing for a fountain and landscaping.

“After interviewing Ahern Construction and reviewing their past work, we were convinced their company could meet a high standard of quality, accuracy, and detail needed for a National Monument, designed to last forever”, said John Burnam.

Joey Herrick, President of Natural Balance Pet Food, was an official sponsor of Mr. Burnam’s organization and helped them raise funds to build the national monument. “Ahern Construction has done numerous projects for me over the years and always with great craftsmanship, on time and on budget. I’m so happy they are building this important monument,” said Joey Herrick.
